Using Magnetic Therapy for Pain

"Poisons and medicine are oftentimes the same substance given with different intents." ~Peter Mere Latham

Are you thinking about using magnetic therapy for pain management? Pain is never fun. When I'm in pain it slows me down.

I can't concentrate and my day always feel long. Regardless, when your body is signaling pain, it means your body is trying to tell you something is wrong. It's screaming, "FIX IT!"

But did you notice that taking pain medication only masks the pain but doesn't solve the actual issue? You start to have to take more and more pain pills because the low dosage isn't as effective anymore. You start to find yourself dependent on pain medication, which you know isn't feeding your body but just hiding what's really wrong with it.

Magnetic therapy does not do that. Let me tell you the story of Dr. Charles Kennedy, Jr.'s wife. For some background information, Dr. Kennedy is the head of the Orthopedic Associates of Corpus Christi. This is the largest orthropedic group in South Texas. Through his wife he became interested in magnetic therapy's usage for pain.

Mrs. Kennedy enjoyed playing tennis and soon developed tennis elbow in her right arm (her dominant arm). She went to physical therapy to treat it, had cortisone injections, started exercise and NSAIDs for pain management. Nothing worked and she was scheduled for surgery. After thinking about the long scar and the success rate of surgery Mrs. Kennedy decided that she'll just have to live with the pain. Then someone told her about magnetic therapy for pain.

Mrs. Kennedy wrapped a band of magnets around her forearm just below her elbow as a counterbrace. In two and half weeks, she was pain free and convinced of the effectiveness of magnets for pain.

Due to their success with magnets, Dr. Kennedy became the president of MAGNAflex, Inc. Dr. Kennedy also uses a magnetic pad for his lower back due to pain caused by degenerative disc disease.

Dr. Kennedy believes that, "the advantages of magnet therapy are that it is extremely cost effective, noninvasive, and in those cases that are successful, there is an almost immediate decrease in the amount of discomfort."

Does magnetic therapy for pain work?

There isn't a definitive answer but you can view the theories on how magnets works for further explanation.

However, there are plenty of testimonials of people whose lives have been changed because they use magnetic therapy for pain.

Magnets take longer to work than some pain medication in some people and in others they work almost immediately. There must be a reason for the difference in response time and it could have something to do with how toxic a body is.

Whatever the case, magnetic therapy for pain is a sure solution for pain management. It isn't surprising then to notice many PGA golfers wearing magnetic wrist or elbow bands during their competitions.
